A Parent’s Dream Childcare LLC was born in Oakland, CA in 2000. It was formed from the outcry of the community, and the cry of my own. Quality childcare was very hard to find. My personal experience with childcare for my son was a nightmare. I had to leave the workforce and stay home, due to my inability to secure a safe and nurturing childcare with an enrichment program. My thought was, “If I can create a program I dream of, I cannot go wrong.” Hence, the name. “A Parent’s Dream Childcare” was created.

In addition, the name holds a special place in my heart. My father felt I could not work for people. He only had three jobs in his entire life and didn’t understand the way I changed jobs. The pun “A Parent’s Dream” is my daddy’s wish for me to work for myself. My father loved the name! As I filed the fictitious business license, he suffered a fatal heart attack and died.

Living in Oakland without my father was too hard. Therefore, A Parent’ s Dream Childcare LLC relocated to Visalia, CA in 2001. Our philosophy to co-parent with parents, the schools and community took Visalia by storm. We offered flexible hours, a multi-cultural and all-inclusive facility. Because I personally knew the struggle of being a single mother, working, and attending college, I partnered with the College of the Sequoias’ EOPS department. I transported the kids and their parents to school. I had children in my childcare with Cerebral Palsy, diagnosed ADHD, and speech impediments. 

In 2005, I closed “A Parent’s Dream Childcare” to relocate to Las Vegas and teach. I taught for Andre Agassi College Preparatory Academy and Clark County School District. Some of my assignments were 3rd and 4th Grade Resource Room Teacher, 5th grade, 9th Grade English, middle school math and social studies. In addition. I am a former foster parent, Sunday School and Vacation Bible School teacher.

We have served urban, suburban, and rural households. In addition, we have given the same quality of care to parents and children regardless of their socioeconomical status. For the record, parents who participated in Welfare-to-Work programs to the very affluent patronized A Parent’s Dream Childcare.  

“A Parent’s Dream Childcare” in Atwater, CA is now open! The philosophy and concept remain the same. The only change is, I am incorporating coding, American Sign Language and Spanish lessons. I will tutor children and support the parents and schools by assisting in the solution of the obstacles many Titles 1 schools experience.

“A Parent’s Dream Childcare” left a life-long, positive impression upon the former parents, children, and community. It is our desire to do the same in Atwater.

With a strong foundation in education and child development, A Parent’s Dream Childcare LLC is committed to providing a holistic and personalized approach to early childhood education, making a lasting difference in the lives of children and their families. My journey from a personal need to a thriving business reflects my passion for fostering the growth and development of every child in our care.
